Unlike many parts, shocks – to a point – really do get you what you pay for. You do however, have to be brutally honest with yourself about how much it matters, how much you need the best, and how important that last increment of lap time is worth. Many of us will do track events and that’s the end of our racing aspirations. What lapping very slightly faster is worth only you can decide, what with Penske or Moton shocks running around $1000-$3500 each!
Compromises include finding appropriate production car parts that are good enough. The problem is that since nearly all cars are much heavier than Midlana, the shocks are valved for much stiffer springs, so they’ll in general be too stiff.
